This week’s spotlight is on team member Teena Bergstrand. Teena and her husband Jim both joined the team this year, and we’re excited to have them. Welcome to the team you two – we hope you have a great year!

When did you join pedal? January 2016

How long have you been riding and racing? I started riding about 3 years ago after having to give up running due to a hip injury. I completed my first race on April 13th, the Karen Hornbostel Memorial Time Trial.

What is your absolute favorite road or trail to ride? Tough question, there are so many great roads and trails in this awesome state! A partial list includes Deer Creek Road, Red Rocks Park Roads, the 401 in Crested Butte and Hall Ranch.

What piece of bike equipment/gear can you not live without? A really good saddle, an uncomfortable behind just kills any ride!

Favorite thing to do when you’re NOT riding your bike? Perfecting my cooking skills or going up skiing in Colorado’s awesome mountains.

Favorite motivational quote/saying? Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results.” – Willie Nelson

What are your goals for 2016? I want to complete a century ride and generally become a faster rider.
